Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 5cm f/1.5 T in Leica thread mount, serial number 2846140. An interesting early postwar example from the period between wartime Zeiss production and the subsequent Soviet ZK and Jupiter lenses.

The serial number falls within the recorded Sonnar batch 2845301–2847300 in LTM mount, listed with a production date of January 1946. Research into this batch identifies a mixture of transition Sonnars and lenses associated with the early KMZ ZK production.

The lens has an aluminium barrel in great condition, a black front ring and the red T marking associated with Zeiss anti-reflection coating. Its Leica screw mount allows use on LTM cameras, or on Leica M cameras with a suitable LTM-to-M adapter.

Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 5cm f/1,5 T in Leica schroefdraadvatting, serienummer 2846140.
