The Leica M4-P was the last in the line of M4 cameras which started in 1966.
The M4-P was introduced in 1980 after the M5 long ceased production, as a camera for professionals. It combined all the good things from previous cameras and added frame-lines for the whole range of focal lengths as we know them now.
The M4-P can considered to be Leica’s rescue, and continued the classic design. Without the light meter, it feels like a M6s younger brother.
This example is in ‘user condition’. However it received a full CLA at Amsterdam Camera Repairs. The leather was replaced for one without the ‘red dot’. Afterwards we also replaced the flashconnector block with a new one (the threads break after all these years), and had the rangefinder re-aligned as well. Ready to reliable shoot for another decade.
