Leica M4-2 Gold Oscar Barnack Commemorative Edition

Leica made 1000 examples of a 24 carat gold plated M4-2 in 1979. These were produced to commemorate Oskar Barnack birtha 100 years ago in 1879.

This particular Leica M4-2 started out as an original M4-2, but it is as close as an original commemorate camera as you can get. The former owner had all the parts ordered new at Leica in Canada, and had it officially converted here in Europe. All details are present. It has the gold plated strap lugs, rewind and forward lever, shutter dial. And the most interesting detail is that the hotshoe has no serial engraved on it, a blank specimen has been used. The camera also has the original L-seal in it.

The camera is in beautiful condition with extremely minor user marks as you can see from the pictures. It comes with the original M4-2 box, with the foam inserts, and original strap.

The shuttertimes are correct, and it would should perfect pictures. We have however opted not to service it, given the fact that the original L-seal is still present, and we’ll leave that up to the buyer, or we can arrange it for you to make sure it is all fresh inside.
