]]> Leica Standard – 1936 https://www.cameraobscuraelburg.nl/product/leica-standard-1936/ Tue, 13 Oct 2026 16:06:04 +0000 https://www.cameraobscuraelburg.nl/?post_type=product&p=7384 An original Leica Standard from 1936, serial number 212672. This pre-war Barnack Leica remains in its original configuration, with the compact body and straightforward controls that make these early cameras so appealing.

The Standard is the simpler member of the Leica family, with a built-in viewfinder but no coupled rangefinder. Focusing is done by setting the distance directly on the lens, either estimated or measured with a separate rangefinder. Fully mechanical and without a light meter, it offers a very direct way of photographing on 35mm film.

The lens flange carries the “0” marking, indicating the standardized Leica lens register. This allows compatible Leica screw-mount lenses to be interchanged without individually matching each lens to the camera.

The shutter works perfectly at all speeds. A lovely choice for anyone who appreciates an original pre-war Leica, whether for a collection or to use with a favourite screw-mount lens.

  • Model: Leica Standard / Model E
  • Year: 1936
  • Serial number: 212672
  • Original configuration
  • Film: 35mm, 24 × 36mm format
  • Lens mount: Leica screw mount, LTM / M39
  • “0” marking on the lens flange, indicating the standardized lens register
  • Built-in viewfinder, without a coupled rangefinder
  • Mechanical focal-plane shutter
  • Shutter speeds: 1/20–1/500 second and B
  • Shutter working perfectly at all speeds

A rare combination of mechanical precision, exceptional optics and understated design. Introduced in 2022 and limited to just 250 sets worldwide, the Leica M-A “Titan” pairs the fully mechanical Leica M-A with a specially designed titanium APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH.

]]> Leica M-A “Titan” Set met APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH.

]]> Leica M3 Rangefinder 0.91 Chrome https://www.cameraobscuraelburg.nl/product/leica-m3-rangefinder-0-91-chrome-11/ Mon, 14 Sep 2026 13:17:14 +0000 https://www.cameraobscuraelburg.nl/?post_type=product&p=7299 A lovely Leica M3, dating from 1957, with serial number 875571.

This example is fitted with the single-stroke film advance mechanism, making it particularly pleasant to use. The camera presents beautifully, with only very minor superficial signs of use to the body. Nothing excessive or distracting – simply the light traces one would expect from a carefully used Leica of this age.

Mechanically, the camera feels exceptionally good. The film advance is extremely smooth, the controls operate exactly as they should and the camera has the wonderfully precise mechanical feel for which a good M3 is known.

The viewfinder is beautifully clear, with a strong, bright and very clearly visible rangefinder patch. The rangefinder is correctly aligned and focusing is accurate.

The M3 remains one of the finest mechanical rangefinder cameras ever made, and its large 0.91x viewfinder is particularly wonderful when used with 50mm lenses.

A nice little detail is the red-dot soft release fitted to the shutter button, which is included with the camera.

Details:

* Leica M3
* Serial number 875571
* Manufactured in 1957
* Single-stroke film advance
* Very good cosmetic condition
* Only very minor superficial signs of use
* Extremely smooth mechanical operation
* Clear and bright viewfinder
* Strong and clearly visible rangefinder patch
* Rangefinder correctly aligned
* Red-dot soft release included

A beautifully preserved and particularly smooth M3 that is ready to be used – exactly how a classic mechanical Leica should feel.

* Serienummer 875571

* Bijzonder soepele mechanische werking
* Heldere en schone zoeker
* Sterk en duidelijk zichtbaar meetzoekervlak

A very early Leica M2 button rewind with selftimer. These early M2s are quite desirable for their round button on the front instead of the little lever to unlock the film when rewinding. This particular example is from the 2nd batch every produced, it is a 1958 camera.

Some of the vulcanite is missing, but since it's so original, we decided to not replace it with modern leatherette.

A great user, which also comes with a quick load system installed.

The camera has been serviced, and is in perfect working order.
